This painting depicts Camel no F5177 of No.61 Squadron R.F.C. (Rochford). Which escorted General Haig on 7.12.1918.

Squadron  number 61 was Formed 24th July 1917 at Rochford as Home Defence Unit covering the London area. Retained this role until the armistice.
